COMMENTS: Signs of GOP Iraq Split in Senate
The erosion of support among Republican senators for President George Bush's military strategy in Iraq was the Story of the Day. ABC and NBC both led with the looming renewal of the Congressional debate over attaching troops-out provisions to funding for the war--NBC from the White House, ABC from Capitol Hill. CBS covered the Iraq debate too, but later in its newscast. For its lead, CBS chose the summer heat, as last week's western heatwave moved to the cities of the midwest and eastern seaboard. Phew! What a scorcher!
I am still catching up from the Fourth of July vacation, so there will be no more blogging on today's news.
