COMMENTS: Checking Iraq’s Benchmarks
For the third weekday out of four this week, the debate over Iraq War strategy was Story of the Day. As required by Congress, the White House published its report on military and political progress in Iraq--the former was a mix of positive and negative; the latter almost entirely unsatisfactory. Only CBS chose Iraq as its lead. NBC preceded its White House coverage with a pair of short stand-up reports on the renewed viability of the Pakistan-based al-Qaeda terrorist network. ABC chose Wall Street as the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at an all-time high..
I am still catching up from the Fourth of July vacation, so there will be no more blogging on today's news.
