TYNDALL HEADLINE: HIGHLIGHTS FROM JULY 11, 2007
The death of Lady Bird Johnson, widow of President Lyndon Johnson and activist to keep America beautiful, was Story of the Day. ABC and NBC had anchors Charles Gibson and Brian Williams file the obituary; CBS used Harry Smith anchor of The Early Show. CBS offered historical background from Texan Bob Schieffer, anchor of Face the Nation while ABC and NBC used their in-house historians. CBS and NBC both led with the former First Lady but ABC chose worries about a possible summertime terrorist attack in this country as its lead. For the second straight day, Brian Ross detailed hints that a plot may be afoot.

I am still catching up from the Fourth of July vacation, so there will be no more blogging on today's news.
